CAR HIRE

You can either go to the individual websites for these companies (eg. http://www.avis.co.uk/) and get an on-line quote to compare, or go to a site like http://www.webcarhire.com/ which will do much of the legwork for you. If you’re flying into London (Heathrow or Gatwick) there will be no problem in collecting the car at the airport. If you want to collect it from another location, be aware that not all companies operate from every location.

Be aware, too, that it isn’t common to hire cars with automatic transmission in England. Most cars will have manual transmission and autos will not only be scarcer, but will also be more expensive to hire.
